However, soon this technology gave rise to schools offering online bachelor degrees - something that most people had never dreamed about up until recently. These programs give practically anyone the opportunity to receive the college education they had always wanted, but do employers value online degrees as highly as they look upon those who earned their degree at a brick and mortar institution?

The answer is yes. A majority of employers will simply not care where you got your degree - so long as you have one. This means that online bachelor degrees are every bit as good as those that you would have received from a normal school in a building somewhere as far as most employers are concerned.

If you are considering an online education and you want to work for a prestigious company after you graduate, you may want to think twice about that degree - especially in the business or law field.

All in all, it really boils down to how well you do in school and how prestigious the online school you attended was. There are a lot of online schools that are known as degree mills - they take your money, you do very little work, and you get a degree after a year or two. These kinds of schools are the most likely to be frowned upon by employers and graduate schools. But as far as the rest of the online schools go, their online bachelor degrees are just as good as if you were to go to your local state college instead.
